Former boarder James Gibson spent 20 years working in IT for several international banks before taking a sabbatical in 2014 when he swapped bytes for bites to set-up an American ice cream business in Hong Kong. Seeing a fun and exciting opportunity to scratch an entrepreneurial itch, James opened four of the hippie ice cream brand Emack & Bolio’s stores in the territory and is planning more in the future. In 2018 James returned to the UK with his family and resumed his career in finance and technology. James’ top tips for budding entrepreneurs: have passion in your venture, do your homework, bring in great people to fill the gaps in your own capabilities - and treat them really well!
