Jessica Petrie, Staff

Jessica left Cheadle Hulme School in 2010 after studying English Literature, Psychology and Geography at A-Level. She went on the the University of Birmingham to study English Literature and Language and was the only student from her cohort at UoB to be accepted onto the Teach First programme in 2013. After graduating in the summer of 2013, Jessica completed the six week Teach First training programme known as Summer Institute and in the September of that year, she started her first teaching role at one of the most challenging schools in North West Birmingham.


Whilst working in her first school, Grace Academy Darlaston, Jessica became Key Stage 4 Curriculum Lead for the Communications Department in her NQT year. After two years at Grace Academy Darlaston, Jessica completed the Teach First Programme and became an ambassador with a PGCE from Birmingham City University and a Diploma in Educational Leadership from the University of Warwick. She moved to London to pursue the next steps of her career at one of the highest achieving state schools in the country, King Solomon Academy. Over the three and a half years Jessica spent at KSA, she held the roles of Deputy Head of English (Lead for Key Stage 5), Lead Teacher of Psychology and Head of Sixth Form Pastoral; as a Sixth Form specialist, Jessica worked closely with all Year 12 and Year 13 students and staff inside and outside the classroom.


Jessica has been working at CHS since January 2019 as an A-Level Psychology teacher whilst also supporting the English Department, specifically with Key Stage 5 pupils.
