Kate Vokes, Class of 1987

After careers in food and management consultancy, Kate turned her people-focused approach to property and is now Director of Culture at Bruntwood.


Bruntwood’s purpose is to create thriving cities, building deep connections in the places it operates. It specialises in creating interesting workspaces for its customers, employing around 800 people.


Kate is now responsible for ensuring the values are embedded throughout everything the company does with particular focus on the many and varied community partnerships. Partnerships such as the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting with the Royal Exchange, Manchester International Festival, Bluedot Festival, Manchester School of Art, City of Trees and Enabling Enterprise.


Her commitments to the city extend to Chair of Cityco, Trustee of the Oglesby Charitable Trust, The Shared Health Foundation and Manchester Youth Zone.
