Lady Charlotte Tootal-Broadhurst

Charlotte’s husband was President of the School from 1907. On his death in 1922, the committee took the step of naming Charlotte the first (and thus far the only) female President of the School.

Both Charlotte and her husband poured much energy into raising funds for the School and taking care of the wellbeing of all children. Following the end of WW1, they invited children from a devastated area of France to spend the summer at the School to help them recover from the war.
