Martine first started working at CHS in 1978 after a friend spotted a position at the school being advertised and suggested she applied. The position was for Housemother, rather than a teacher, which Martine was training in. Despite her reservations, Martine came to an interview only to be told the position had already been filled! However the successful applicant also wanted time to teach, and it was clear Martine wanted this too. Martine joined the team in a job share position, an innovative idea at the time. She taught in the Senior and Junior school and spent time as Head of Girls Boarding.
Over 40 years later, Martine has seen many changes at CHS. She continues to be an invaluable member of the team, now as Junior School Pastoral Manager and Designated Safeguarding Officer, working in safeguarding across both the Junior and Senior School.
